"WE ARE PROUD OF OUR DIFFERENCES AND WE CELEBRATE OUR DIVERSITY!"
"DON'T BLEND IN WHEN YOU ARE BORN TO STAND OUT"
Leaders Community is a ’Not for Profit’ organisation established with the aim of engaging with marginalised children and young people by responding to the rising tide of inequality and youth violence they face in their communities.
We strongly believe that investing in our children and young people makes good economic sense, and is the right thing to do.
Children and young people face many challenges; communities are faced with continuous changes, increased uncertainty, widespread poverty and inequalities which often lead to youth violence, mental and physical health issues.
Leaders Community has a mission to support this marginalised group of children and young people through the Creative Arts which are relevant to their lifestyles, with the aim of overcoming barriers that hinder the fulfillment of their potential by reducing isolation and marginalisation, improving community cohesion and navigating them away from negative cycles and behaviours, keeping them safe and thereby improving their life chances.
Our programmes support the empowerment of our learners through consistent, high quality programs, inspirational teaching and support. A safe nurturing environment with each learner linked to mentors and role models selected from a diverse group of community, conscious adults who are able to inspire, cajole and support children and young people to engage positively. Our programs support improved well-being, personal development and leadership skills.
Leaders Community are experienced community educators and believe it’s not enough for provisions to be available and widespread, but they need to be meaningful, relevant and of the highest quality. As a result, we design programmes that make a tangible and long term difference to mental, physical, emotional and economic well-being through activities that support self- development, accreditation and social attainment.
Leaders Community are committed to promoting equal opportunities and valuing the diversity of everyone we liaise with regardless of age, gender, race, ethnic origin, nationality, religion, disability, sexuality or economic status.
