Leaders are delighted to announce that our very own Maria was thrilled to receive the 'Rob Anker Award in recognition for her outstanding work in the community by bringing dance classes to the heart of the most vulnerable communities.

It is with great delight that we are happy to announce that our little army of children and young people represented themselves, Leaders & Waltham Forest at the fantastic Boroughs United 2020 Hackney Empire and placed 1st in the over 13's Dance Category and 3rd in the under 13's Dance Category !🤩
Taking part in this annual event is always one of our highlights every year and firstly we must give thanks to the amazing Da Crib Team for all that they do in an effort to bring together communities from across all London Boroughs, to stand united against Youth Violence.💕💕💕
We were also treated to an epic performance by SEYKI 4 ❤️
We give special thanks to Aaliyah Sharnell and Emie Emin for supporting all the children and young people with their awesome choreo, to all the Leaders Team who always turn up - making it possible for our children and young people to take part in such opportunities and finally to all the amazing supporters on the night.❤️❤️❤️
Since taking part in this event Leaders have achieved the following:

Its never about where we place its about teaching our children and young people that talent is a gift and that success is earned (as shared by a special friend of mine YB) this is so very true and we continue to demonstrate year on year that with courage, determination and the right nurturing support there isnt nothing our children cant do.❤️❤️

PINEAPPLE'S COMMUNITY DANCE CHAMPION OF THE MONTH
We are pleased to announce our very own founder Maria Theodoulou has been named Pineapple's Community Dance Champion of the Month.
Maria works tirelessly creating free and affordable dance programmes for young people so they feel inspired to lead positives lives.
Thank you for everything you do to keep Leaders alive and the joy you bring to our young people.

BOROUGH'S UNITED TALENT
COMPETITION 2019
Congratulations to our wonderful and talented 40 young Leaders who performed at the Boroughs United 2019 Talent Showcase celebrating children and young people from across 33 Boroughs in London who all come together to make a stand against youth violence.
With thanks to over 200 parents and family supporters who came out on the night to cheer and support-what a night!
Also a big thank you to our amazing teachers: Joshua Chester, Jason Than, Aaliyah Sharnell and Steven Pascua.
2nd place to our over 13's dance group and 3rd place to our young leaders-we are so proud of you all.
This is our third year participating in this show and its now quite clear that even though you all train just one hour a week, the quality of the teaching you access is phenomenal!
You represent everything that is good in our communities, your empathy & support not only for yourselves as a team with one dream but for everyone else is sincere.
You celebrate others achievements not just your own with only love and support in your hearts your stars are rising .
Its your time to shine in that fierce determined manner you are all known for.

DANCE LEADERSHIP QUALIFICATION 2018
Once again, with funding received from Peabody, another 20 young leaders qualified in their Level 1 Dance Leadership.
They worked tirelessly by coming to sessions after school and during their half term, showing great dedication to ensure they completed their course.
Not only did they complete the course, they did so in a record breaking time and every single one of them passed!
They were awarded their certificates during our Christmas Show infront of proud parents and peers.
Thank you to Peaboody for supporting this programme and for making it possible for these amazing young people to excel.

Leaders Community are breaking barriers !!!!
We are so proud to share that on Thursday 22nd November Leaders Community received 3 awards at the Feel Good 2018 Sports Awards recognising our little community group and our efforts in supporting children and young people !
Two of our dance instructors won joint 'Coach of the Year - Aaliyah Sharnell and Steven Pascua' and our project lead - Maria Theodoulou also received an award for Volunteer of the Year !.
We are humbled and honoured to receive these awards which are so significant because we do not offer SPORTS we offer physical activities and performing arts opportunities which is why we value this recognition and thank LBWF for this honour.
Needless to say our star is rising ❤️ because we are a STRONG FIERCE family united with one common goal, better futures for all our children and young people.

Last year we were honored to have been nominated at the Love Your Borough Awards, and although we didn't win we were so grateful to be named runners up.
This year we were nominated for both the Arts & Culture Award and the Young Citizen of the Year Award!

BOROUGH'S UNITED 2018!
Leaders would like to congratulate all of our learners who took part in this years Boroughs United 2018 @ Hackney Empire.
We are proud to announce that Leaders won 1st place in Dance for both the under 13's and over 13's categories.
Congratulations to our Little Generals who performed for the first time ever and most certainly stole everyone's hearts with their performance.
With special thanks to our Dance Leads: Steven Pascua, Aaliyah Sharnell & Joshua Chester and finally to Kelly Reid and Co from Da Crib for organising this Pan London Talent Event giving children and young people the opportunity to showcase their creative talents !!

ARE AWARDED AT
LEYTON ORIENT FOOTBALL STADIUM
With funding received from The Leyton Orient Football Trust in partnership with Peabody, 20 young leaders qualified in Level 1 Dance Leadership.
They were invited to the Leyton Orient Football Stadium to receive their certificates on the pitch on 30th December 2017.

'FEEL GOOD' SPORTS AWARDS 2017
WALTHAM FOREST
A massive thank you to Dean Roberts & Joyce Guthrie from the Sports Development Department of Waltham Forest for inviting Leaders Community to the Sports Awards 2017 !
Whilst dance is not a recognised Sport, it is a recognised physical activity and although we didn't receive any awards we received a BLINDING 7 nominations and that is just amazing!
For us it was a win-win situation and are delighted to even be considered !
However, our love, respect and pure pride go to our wonderful young leaders. Not only do they train hard, perform, support all community events they are invited to, are peer mentors and role models, they spend a huge amount of time outreaching in the community, showing residents that there are young people who deserve to be recognised for being amazing contributing members of society.
They really are the PRIDE of Leaders and just you all

For once they were guests and not the entertainment and as you can see they really appreciated the evening.

We are proud and honoured to announce that Leaders Community were nominated for the Arts, Culture & Heritage Award at the 'Love Your Borough Awards 2017'.
Although we were a runner up, we are absolutely delighted that our little Community Group was recognised by Waltham Forest as a serious contender for this award and this in itself is a WIN for all such community groups!

Voted Overall winners by the entire panel, Leaders Community won their first ever dance competition winning the coveted trophy for their borough Waltham Forest. Congratulations to Darren, Emie, Caris, Sienna, Jonathan, Curnisha, Christina, Freya, Donikey and Nayshay.
